Ophthalmologic Examination
The eye examination is performed for the purposes of eye health and for the diagnosis of diseases, both for functional and anatomical evaluation of both eyes.
Ocular tension is measured using a tonometer. This device is used to measure intraocular pressure. It is an easy, fast and painless measurement method. It can be used safely in all our pets without the need for local anesthesia.
The cornea is eye’s clear, protective outer layer. Along with the sclera (the white of the eye), it serves as a barrier against dirt, germs, and other things that can cause damage.
Cornea surgery; It is a microsurgical approach especially for the repair of damage caused by cornea wounds and ulcers.
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is the process of removing the excess fat, muscle and skin tissue in the lower and upper eyelids and tightening the areas around the eyes. Blepharoplasty is ensured to eliminate the sagging eyelid, entropium / ectrapion conditions, abnormal appearance related to them and damage to the cornea.
Tarsorrhaphy is a surgical procedure in which the eyelids are partially sewn together to narrow the eyelid opening. It is used to correct the outer curvature of the eyelid.
It is a technique that is applied with different methods in the treatment of conjunctival diseases and chronic corneal ulcers.
Cherry eye is a disorder of the nictitating membrane also called the third eyelid, present in the eyes of dogs and cats. Cherry eye is most often seen in young dogs under the age of two. (Protrusion of the harderian gland). In such cases, the harderian gland is placed back as a result of surgical operation.
A blocked tear duct is when the eye’s drainage system for tears is either partially or completely obstructed. Tears cannot drain normally, causing a watery, irritated or chronically infected eye. A blocked tear duct is common in brachiocephalic breeds. (Persian cats, British shorthair, Pomeranian, Bulldog, etc.). The blocked lacrimal duct can be opened by an operation.
