PRP

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) can be defined as a high concentration plasma solution (liquid part of blood) obtained from the patient’s own blood. PRP includes high concentration of platelets.

Platelets are cells which have a crucial role for clotting and prevent  overloss of blood in vessel injuries. Platelets also contain a number of factors. These factors play a role in the growing of cells, repairment of blood vessels, the formation of new vessels and the healing of wounds.

There is 3 to 7 times more platelets in the PRP than in the blood circulation.

When PRP is applied to the tissue, it becomes active with collagen, one of the important structural proteins of the body, and the factors in the platelet begin to be released. New vessels begin to form in the area and tissue regeneration begins.
